pub fn verdict(theirs: &str, yours: Option<&str>) -> VerdictExpand description
Compares what a source says with what the tags say.
The comparison goes through crate::text::normalize, the same
normalisation the catalog uses to decide that two spellings are one name —
case, diacritics, punctuation and a leading article. Album and album,
Björk and Bjork, The Beatles and Beatles, The are agreement, and
reporting them as disagreement would train the reader to skip the report.
What it does not fold is worth stating, because it is the case that
will produce the first false alarm: & and and are different words to
normalize, so Rock & Roll against Rock and Roll is reported as a
difference. Widening the normalisation is the wrong fix — it is the
catalog’s identity function, and loosening it there to quiet a report here
would start merging artists. If the noise becomes real, the answer is a
comparison of its own, not a change to what counts as one name.
