Expand description

An album, in the sense of a “release”: what MusicBrainz calls a release.

Fields§

§id: Id

Position in Catalog::releases; tracks point back to it.

§title: String

Album title as written in the tags.

§key: String

Normalized title, which is what makes two spellings meet.

§album_artist_id: Option<Id>

Album artist; absent for multi-artist compilations.

§date: Option<String>

Earliest date announced by the tracks, kept in its tagged form.

§year: Option<u32>

Year read out of date, for sorting and for filtering by decade.

§label_ids: Vec<Id>

Labels that issued this edition, in the order the tags named them.

§catalog_number: Option<String>

Reference printed on the sleeve, which tells two pressings apart.

§barcode: Option<String>

Commercial barcode of the physical edition.

§media: Option<String>

Medium the edition was issued on: CD, Vinyl, Digital Media…

§mbid: Option<String>

MusicBrainz identifier of this precise edition.

§release_group_mbid: Option<String>

MusicBrainz identifier of the work every edition of it shares.

§release_group_id: Option<Id>

Canonical release group this edition belongs to, when tags identify it.

§is_compilation: bool

Set when the tags declare a compilation or name a placeholder album artist; the same condition is what leaves album_artist_id empty.

§folder: String

Source folder: the most reliable grouping clue after the tags.

§cover_path: Option<String>

Cover art found next to the files, when none is embedded.

§track_ids: Vec<Id>

Its tracks, ordered by disc then by position once the build is done.
